Bike Split is a coaching resource to improve your cycling speed! Regardless of whether you race on road or off, duathlons, triathlons, or just ride for fitness, I can provide information to improve your performance. There's more to cycling than just pushing on the pedals with good energy; in addition to how much power you can generate—optimal bike fit, aerodynamics, and technique, all profoundly affect how fast you'll go.

Improving your cycling has the most potential to cut overall time on multisport race days, yet for the majority of athletes it's their least developed discipline. Perfecting your cycling technique requires nearly as much work as improving swim form. And using your energy effectively on the bike is an art—with more subtle skills to master than running.

I'm Steve Pyle, the coach and website creator. After competing in endurance sports first as a young bike-racer (17-seasons), then duathlete, now triathlete, I have 35-years of experience on the bike to complement my analytical nature with practical experience. Each athlete comes into the sport with a unique level of experience and energy, so I always take that into account. Coaching is not effective unless it addresses your unique needs.
